Dinner For Perfectionists: Artist Duo Cuts Raw Food Into 98 Perfect Cubes
“Dicing” is the word you use for cutting food into cubes. And Dutch artist duo Lernert and Sander took it to the surprising extreme with 98 precisely cut cubes of vegetables and meat. the raw food stuff was cut into 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm slices of raw food stuff. Those of keen eye will notice that some cubes are more… cubelike than others, but let’s be honest: it’s hard to make a perfect cube of that size out of bell pepper. As for those wondering what possessed the duo to do this, the project was done for Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant and their food-themed documentary photography special.
Lernert and Sander are a Dutch artist due who have been collaborating since 2007. Known for their “high-conceptual art films, eye-catching installations and keen fashion aesthetic”, they have created several stunning projects, such as “Everything”, where they mixed every perfume released in 2012 into an ultimate fragrance.
