Barack Obama’s presidency will soon come to an end. 8 years as the head of the United States is not something many of us will write in our resumes, so an inside look into what it’s like is not an easy one to get. But thanks to Pete Souza, the official White House photographer, we just got our chance.
The photographer turned 8 years of Obama’s presidency into 2 million pictures, capturing his meetings, leisure time with family, basketball games and much more, showing us a more human side of one of the most powerful men in the world.
Souza was also Ronald Reagan’s official photographer from 1983 to 1989. His path met Obama’s back in 2005: “He’s walking around Red Square, he’s on a sidewalk, and nobody knows who he is,” said the photographer. And four years later, Obama was elected as the 44th president of the United States.
