12 Amusing Beer Ads
1. Heineken Talent Show Commercial
In its appeal to men, this Heineken ad features a “Men with Talent” show in which participants perform a variety of challenges involving the beloved ale – popping bottle caps, juggling and chugging beer – much to the chagrin of female onlookers.
2. Miller Lite
Replete with sexist overtones, the intent of this series of beer commercials is to compel men to drink lite beer – considered by some to be unmanly – for the taste. The ads show purse carrying, skirt wearing men and encourages them to “man up” to the superior taste of Miller Lite.
The Brazilian bear maker touts its Brahma beer as being “refreshingly voodoo”, depicting a man combatting the heat imposed by his ex-girfriend’s play with a voodoo doll, as he engages with another woman. He enjoys the beer and manages to get the ultimate retaliation, which is delivered in the punch line of the advertisement.
This beer ad depicts two men – Carls and Berg – toasting their friend at what we believe to be a funeral. It is in fact a wedding at which two people are joined in holy matrimony, and the friend’s names are also symbolically wed into the Carlsberg brand.
In this Carling ad, one woman discovers an inventive way to get her man to do the housework – by slathering floor, windows and other surfaces with his favorite ale, which he happily licks clean to the tune of “Wild Thing” by the Troggs.
6. Heineken Beer Fridge Commercial
To illustrate its slogan “Serving the Planet”, the beer maker Heineken shows a woman conducting a tour of her new house with her friends squealing in delight when they come upon her walk-in closet. Their regales are soon over-shadowed when, down the hall, the men discover a walk-in beer fridge stocked with Heineken.
7. Carlton Draught
In this Carlton ad a number of inane pub related activities such as playing darts, dancing and pouring beer are featured in slow motion to an amusing operatic backdrop. The commercial is funny and not soon forgotten, possibly because it goes on for a full three minutes!
8. Miller Lite
Contentious and controversial, this Miller Lite ad was designed to draw attention to its new branding. The hugely expensive Super Bowl ad which reached millions of viewers features the fantasy of two scantily clad women engaged in a “catfight” over whether the beer is best for its great taste, or the fact that it is less filling than other beers.
The romantic Venetian gondola ride featured in this commercial has an unexpected ending – encouraging Hahn drinkers to “Love the Taste” above all else.
10. Heineken Oops Commercial
So amazing is this beer, that accidentally breaking a few cases of it can cause the world to stop at the most inopportune times!
11. Bud Lite
In this 2011 Super Bowl ad, Bud Lite promotes its beer as a “sure sign of a good time, and the fun begins when a dog-sitting friend is told to help himself to a fridge stocked with Bud Lite.
12. Corona Extra
Seeking an introduction, a well-toned man lands a football in front of a woman on the beach – too bad for him that she and her friend are more interested in the ocean and their bucket of cold Coronas.
