10 of the Most Believable Conspiracy Theories
We all know the one person that should probably be wearing a tinfoil hat wherever they go. You know, the person who thinks the X-files was a documentary and the lizard men are running the world. While some conspiracies are really far-fetched and stretch the very fabric of reality, others whether through extreme coincidence or some other happenstance seem to be entrenched in reality and plausibility far more and are harder to discern among the truth. Some of them may even have you wondering if the government is indeed putting chemicals in our food to keep us passive and ignorant. Break out your tinfoil hats and prepare to question everything as here are ten conspiracy theories with a significant amount of weight behind them.
Princess Diana was murdered by the royal family
Many conspiracy theorists believe that the royal family had Princess Diana murdered due to her relationship with Dodi Fayed. Rumors abound from Dodi being Muslim and Diana planning to convert to her being pregnant with his child. In an effort to prevent further scandal from damaging the royal family, they had her offed. Theories range from the royal family, paparazzi, MI6 or even the CIA being responsible for the act. Considering the family definitely has the resources and power to order such a thing definitely makes you wonder if it’s what actually occurred.
There’s fluoride in the water
It is widely known that fluoride is added to drinking water in an effort to combat tooth decay. What is less widespread however, is the fact that evidence is suggesting there may be harmful side effects that are being ignored. Theorists believe that the warnings are ignored because the pharmaceutical industry profits from a sick population. Further theories expand on that premise stating that fluoride has adverse effects on one’s mental abilities, thus allowing the government to keep the populace “dumbed down.”
The Philadelphia Experiment
In October of 1943 during the middle of America’s involvement in World War II the Navy was rumored to be working on an experiment to render the USS Eldridge invisible to the human eye. While the US Navy has denied any such experiment ever took place, some theorists argue Dr. Franklin Reno was conducting an experiment for a military application of the Unified Field Theory. The theory deals with bending light around an object effectively rendering it invisible and the USS Eldridge was fitted with the equipment necessary to test such a theory.
The HIV virus was created in a laboratory
Many conspiracy theorists maintain that the HIV virus was created in a science lab by the World Health Organization as a means of population control. Other popular theories include the virus being created by the CIA as a way to return America to the moral majority and targeted specific social outcasts such as gays and drug addicts.
FEMA concentration camps and plastic coffins
This particular theory has picked up steam recently as over half a million plastic black coffins reside just outside Atlanta, Georgia. The coffins are supposedly owned by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and theorists assert that these coffins, along with alleged FEMA concentration camps are signs the government is preparing for martial law and the killing of thousands of Americans.
Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen
There are many theorists out there who believe that American president Franklin D. Roosevelt was informed of the Pearl Harbor attacks ahead of time and allowed them to happen as a way to rally public support behind entering WWII which had been strongly opposed up until that point. Numerous reports indicate a number of our allies had warned us of the attack and we had broken the important aspects of the Japanese code ahead of time. Whether or not this is true, it definitely achieved the desired effect as we entered WWII shortly thereafter and kicked some Nazi butts.
9/11 was an inside job
For the second time on this list we have a theory involving the United States government being warned of an attack and doing nothing about it to rally public support to enter a war. 9/11 ‘truthers’ maintain that eye-witnesses claim to have heard explosions below the crash site and also before the planes had crashed into the building. They also site the minimal damage done to the Pentagon as well as the plane that was headed for the White House being brought down before reaching its target as further affirmation of their theory. Further adding fuel to the fire is the fact that the owner of the buildings had taken out a multi-billion dollar insurance policy on the buildings shortly before the attack and was conspicuously absent from work that day.
The Moon landing was faked
Many individuals believe the moon landing in 1969 was faked with cooperation between the United States government and NASA in an effort to bankrupt the Soviet Union and end the Cold War. We were involved in a tight race to be the first on the moon and people site the grainy footage including camera crosshairs that appear to be behind rocks, the way the flag was moving as well as shadows being cast in odd directions and the lack of stars as proof.
The New World Order
One of, if not the largest reaching theory is that of the New World Order. Theorists believe the New World Order is a collection of the world’s most powerful and influential people with an end goal of a unified, authoritarian society which would require an earthly population of close to two billion people. Theorists argue they are slowly stripping away our freedoms while planning a mass genocide to accomplish their goals.
The assassination of JFK
November 22, 1963. President John F Kennedy was assassinated while traveling in a motorcade in Dallas. Nearly 50 years later and the theories run the gamut from the US government being behind it, the Russians being behind it, the possibility of a second shooter. You could spend months learning all the various theories behind this one. Further adding fuel to the fire is just seven days prior to his assassination, JFK was on record saying “there is a plot in this country to enslave every man, woman, and child. Before I leave this high and noble office, I intend to expose this plot.” Makes you wonder if the New World Order had anything to do with it.
