10 Fantastic Dog Houses
What you are about to see puts Snoopy’s lair to shame! When it comes to our pets, we tend to love them like our own kids, but some people really take things to the extreme when it comes to the happiness of our dogs. If you own a run-of-the-mill dog house or kennel, be prepared to feel inferior, and no one will blame you if you refuse to keep up with the Henderson’s across the street. Check out…
1. Marco Morosini’s ‘Dog is a God’
Here we actually have three different dog houses: “The Dog House” has been designed exclusively for the dachshund breed. Next, we have “The Transparent Dog House” which comes with its own carport (?), and finally “The Temple Dog House” which is designed with three different entrances for your pet.
2. The Celebrity (Brick Estate Dog House)
Alan Mowrer has a reputation of designing some of the most astounding dog houses on the planet, and this is just one of them. This has air conditioning, running water, working lights, and even heat. It is available for the bargain price of $25K.
3. Dog House Farm
This is technically named the “Hundehaus Farm Dog House” and is designed to resemble a red farmhouse, so it is perfect for any farm dog. It even has glass windows and shingles. Add a flannel dog bed and your pooch is living in the lap of luxury.
4. Hacienda Dog House
Dog house designers La Petite Maison designed this house with a red clay roof, and it is even roomy enough for a human to spend the night with the dog, if they end up in the ‘dog house’, anyway. It even has floors constructed of terra cotta. This belongs to the pets of model Rachel Hunter, who paid $30,000.
5. Doggie Duplex
This dog house is constructed with wood, and it can comfortably hold either two small-to-medium sized dogs, or one large one. It has two separate entries, and even has a removable partition. The best part is that this unit is something most anyone can afford.
6. Dog House with Deck and Pool
Now this is for a very spoiled dog, I’d say! Not only is it custom made, but the pool itself is in the shape of a bone. I wonder if the dog even realizes that.
7. Luxurious Doggie Caravan
Marco Morosini is the designer here, and this dog caravan dog house is another in his ‘Dog is God’ collection.
8. The Magis
Constructed of polyethylene, and considered indoor/outdoor, this house is raised off the ground with aluminum legs, but fear not. It features steps so your hound can enter if he opts to spend his time inside.
9. Dog Mansion
This particular extravagance was built for Paris Hilton’s pooch. It is two stories, with a living room, bedroom, and closet for her dog’s many outfits. She has a number of small dogs, and each considers this dog house to be home. The funny thing is that it was designed to look like Paris’ home, and it is filled with mini Philippe Starck furnishings. It is heated, has air conditioning, and a black crystal chandelier.
10. The Modern Dog House
This dog house has been fashioned after Bauhaus architectural form, and is referred to as the ‘Cubix’. It comes in small, medium, and large to accommodate nearly any breed. If you are interested, it is designed and manufactured by a company called ‘Best Friend’s Home’, and it runs between $5,800 and $6,300 (depending on the size chosen).
